Family #2

Our second family consists of: Gabriela Soto Cruz, 35, Mario Ignacio, 38, Mario, and Gabriel.

They are a wonderful family who are struggling to get ahead.  They work at Berry Mex, a local fruit producer. Mario makes about 800 to 1000 pesos a week ($75-$95) when there is work available.  They currently live in a small trailer with a small cardboard and plastic extension for a kitchen.  They live right next door to another brother and they share one shower and bano. Gabriela’s brother’s family recently received a newly built house through the same program.

Scouts Canada Mexico Challenge 36 individuals are going to Vincinte Guerrero, Mexico, to build 4 houses for poor families. We will be gone from June 30th-July 16th, and this blog will detail our journey. While we are there, we will have access to the internet, and will be posting pictures and videos of our experiences.
